We absolutely adored the Glacier Wilderness Adventure excursion and would do it again in a heartbeat. It was typical Alaskan weather that day (rainy and cool), but we still can say that it was hands-down the highlight of our cruise on the inside passage. From the second we got off of our ship, the guide was outside and waiting for us (note: we did not book through our cruise company, so you should have 100% confidence booking with them independently!). We found everyone we encountered to be friendly, helpful and knowledgeable- exactly the types of people you would want to spend the day with! The gear we used was well-maintained (no leaky rain pants for us!) and assorted in sizes, accommodating my 6 year old up through my father-in-law. The excursion to the glacier itself was awe-inspiring. The massive size and the glowing color- it's the kind of thing everyone should see at least once in their lives. Do yourself a favor and see it with Alaska Shore tours. You'll be safe, you'll have fun, and you'll learn a ton too! This tour is great. Only in its second year so not many people know about it, but I have to say that it was one of the best we ever took. We didn't want to do the WhitePass train as we would seem to be just inside spectators. On this 4x4 tour, we saw the same kind of scenery as the train, but we were actively part of the environment. My kids 13 and 18 loved it, as well as my parents in their 70s. Very personalized tour as you sit about 4 or so in an ATV with a driver. Our driver was very nice and made for a great tour guide. We had lunch at the top of one of the mountains overlooking a beautiful lake. Even though they forgot our vegetarian lunches (so we had to pick the meat off our sandwiches), the owner made up for it by offering us free popcorn from his store in town. Very nice gesture! And good popcorn. Highly recommend this trip! We had a fabulous time on the tour. The attention given to make sure we were taken care of and comfortable was exceptional. Everyone went out of their way to make it a great trip. Anyone considering booking a tour with this company would be making a great decision. Thank you for helping my family create a great memory. This company is almost completely responsible for our outstanding vacation. They assisted with our two main excursions, and both were a huge hit with our large group. I dealt with Drew each time, who has the patience of a saint, as I continually flooded his email with questions from my group. His detailed answers reassured us all that we were making the right decisions in booking our excursions in Juneau & Skagway. He even offered advice & opinions, which all turned out to be fantastic and valuable. Hopefully I'll be back in Alaska again someday, and my first call will be to Drew to get us booked for more incredible adventures. Do not hesitate to contact Alaska Shore Tours!! We really enjoyed this day exploring the Yukon and would highly recommend it. Beverley, our guide, made the whole experience informative (especially about the history of the Gold Rush) and varied the photo opportunities along the way to suit us all. Beautiful scenery with lots of stops so it didn't feel as though we were travelling for as long as we did. Loved the stops at Carcross and Caribou Crossing. The lunch was very good and the opportunity to see sled dogs and the excellent museum was great. It made our day to see a bear by the roadside! Thank you for an excellent day out!
