Don't let the rustic exterior mislead you - this was one of the highlights of our cruise. Fabulous buffet with BBQ ribs, chicken, amazing Salmon, slaw, beans and potatoes. Then pan for gold out back - my wife and I panned $21 in gold flakes on our first try. Do this - you won't be disappointed! The staff was entertaining the iditarod demonstration was awesome!! Great excursion!! We also got to keep the 15.20 in gold we panned. We had the best time! And all four of us had nice little piles of gold in our pans! Runaway Jim is an endless font of history, silly jokes, and enthusiasm. We had a great time before and on the train ride up to the summit of White Pass. Awesome! Great half day trip with some Alaskan culture.
