I loved this shop! Visited 9 or 10 quilt shops during our month in Alaska and this is my favorite. Not a problem to me to only find half yard pieces instead of fat quarters--certainly better pricing that way. I found so much that I "needed"', paid and left the store when something outside in a window display caught my eye and I went back in for more! Also just placed an online order for a moose panel to make another pillow to match my bear panel pillow. Why do I have to live so far away?! Thank you Rushin' Tailor--open "near" 8:30am! Perfect! if you are looking for fat quarters, this is Not the place. lots of half yard cuts, no fat quarters...over heard a worker say something about their shoulders and how that was an extra cut. no one from the store ever spoke or acknowledged me. I would have bought lots of fat quarters, but walked out with nothing. I will find the Alaska related fabric that I liked on the Internet. The merchandise is fantastic, but the staff are rude, short, and not appreciative of your business. The shop was open when we arrived and we as a sales associate a question. She was very short with us, answered the question and walked away. I overheard another lady state to another sales person " I bet you like the cruise ships coming into port and in your shop." The salesperson stated " No, not really." The owner of the store was rushing people out and wanted to close the store for the 20 minute parade. She asked me if I would come back to pay for my purchase and I stated no, I need to pay for this or I do not want it as I have an excursion . She completed my transaction and asked other people to come back to pay for their items. She said, " I guess I should have opened the shop after 10 am, but I had so many people purchase items this morning." I encourage you not go to this quilt shop as it was obvious that the owner and staff do not want cruise people coming to purchase items in this store. I Love this shop! waited a year and saved to shop here again. Boy did I shop! not sure what this person ment by no fat Quarters I bought about 20 and there were more I wanted? The women in this shop are great very helpful and fun. I look forward to my next trip to Skagway this is just the cherry on top of my trip. Love shopping here both in person and online! Love them!
